Diktats of Inotis

The religion of the Inotian Empire is based upon the Diktats of Inotis, the human philosopher-general who described them. At its core is the belief that divinity is derived from the striving of the soul. Betterment, both personal and societal, is a grand project that, once completed, will lead all souls to a worthy afterlife, with the Empire seen as the ultimate expression of this. The faith is evangelical but (generally) not coercive. A person cannot be forced to improve but instead must understand and embrace the philosophy for it to be effective. Inotis himself is not considered a god – the divine power of the religion is held to come from the increasing alignment of the universe with the principles it espouses – but is revered as both the religion’s founder and the enlightened general who began the conquests which created the empire and the current era of prosperity.
